Oversees the supervision of students engaged in center-sponsored recreational activities on and off center.

? Provides supervision, training, and assessment for assigned recreation staff.

? Plans, implements and evaluates all recreational programs and makes recommendations for change.

? Prepares schedules and calendars for all recreational activities. Coordinates student field trips.

? Creates a supportive work environment; recognizes staff accomplishments and proactively addresses staff performance goals.

? Tracks and records program attendance.

? Orders and maintains recreational equipment, supplies and materials.

? Prepares and controls the departmental budget.

? Designs, develops and implements an active system of communicating upcoming recreation events to students, staff and the community.

? Implements an active system for obtaining student feedback and statements of interest.

? Promotes student and staff participation and interest in recreation activities.

? Recognizes and reinforces students positive behavior.

? Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to insure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.

? Models appropriate behaviors, mentors students and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

? Demonstrated hands-on management style and organization skills

? Proven ability to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate recreation programs

? Proven ability to build partnerships and secure resources that benefit program objective

? Excellent leadership and coaching skills; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

? Extensive knowledge of operational practices and principles of recreation/avocation programs

? Proficient in rules and regulations of common sports and games

? Knowledge of fitness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices

? Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
