ManpowerGroup QC Inspector in Vernon, California

1st or 2nd Shift QC Inspector – $19-$20/hr.

What will you be doing?

• Take daily coffee samples for inspection to ensure that they meet characteristic specifications for type, color, grind, weight, recipe, production dates, and other pertinent information, and record the data in the QC electronic records system

• Inspect the coffee silos in the plant to confirm that all settings and identification information, including Grinder initials, silo numbers, weights, production and expiration dates, and Out-Gasses are accurately documented.

• Verify daily production sheet information, lot numbers, batch tickets and use a scanner to check UPC and GTIN codes.

• Inspect all packaging and labeling, including film impression for production or expiration date, lot #, weight code, UPC, product name, operator number, ingredients, and weight to make sure that it matches content.

• Test the level of oxygen or vacuum pressure of packed coffee (depending on the packaging type).

• Test the appearance, length, width, and shape of coffee bags as well as valve placement, holes, and adhesion and enter the data into the QC electronic records system.

• Collect samples of all product and packing materials for every new installation and shift per the instructions listed on the changeover requirements.

• Verify brew test for soft and espressos pods and espresso products daily

• Verify Organic and Decaf product in the different stages of the production process using the tracking form

• Conduct and document metal detection x-ray tests on product as required

• Collect coffee samples to be sent to customers, clients and the QA department for sensory testing.

• Inspect all machines as required at every started up, at every changeover of the product, and every 30-60 minutes thereafter during production.

• Support production and second shift as needed.

• Complete Hold & Release forms for non-conforming products to document when they are not in compliance with product specifications.

• Perform all duties safely and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and standards as defined by the company.

• Maintain cleanliness of workspace, lab equipment and general work area.

What do you bring?

• One to three (1-3) years of experience in food inspection and/or the manufacturing of consumable products, or equivalent education in food science

• Knowledge of tools, measuring and weighing equipment, gauges, and other equipment common to laboratories

• Reading comprehension: must be able to understand written sentences and information provided in work orders, specifications and other work-related and safety communications.

• Basic math skills

• Ability to work with computers and accurately enter data as needed
