As a Cost Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our company's cost accounting processes. Your responsibilities will include overseeing cost accounting activities, analyzing cost variances, developing cost standards, and implementing cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and profitability. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including finance, operations, and procurement, to provide valuable insights and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis and Reporting:

• Conduct regular analysis of production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead, to identify variances and trends.

• Prepare detailed cost reports and financial statements for management review, highlighting key findings and recommendations for improvement.

• Monitor and analyze inventory valuation, inventory transactions, and inventory reserve levels.

Cost Standards Development:

• Develop and maintain standard costing models for products and services, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Establish cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead, and regularly review and update them to reflect changes in market conditions and operational processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual operating budgets and forecasts, incorporating cost projections and performance metrics.

• Provide support and guidance to department heads and senior management during the budgeting process, offering insights into cost drivers and potential areas for cost savings.

Variance Analysis and Control:

• Investigate and analyze variances between actual and standard costs, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to mitigate unfavorable variances.

• Implement cost control measures and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and minimize wastage.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and reduce procurement costs.

• Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to streamline production processes, improve resource utilization, and minimize production costs.

Compliance and Audit Support:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies related to cost accounting practices.

• Facilitate internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely data, documentation, and support as needed.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

• Proven experience in cost accounting or related financial analysis roles, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing methodologies, and financial modeling techniques.

• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive results.
