The Doe Run Company is seeking a Geological Data Tech who would be responsible for maintaining accurate geological data and maps in support of resource/reserve calculations and operations. Assists with other data and project-related duties as needed to provide administrative support to the exploration team. This position is located at our Exploration division in Viburnum, MO.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of database, administrative, geological, or other relevant work experience.
  • Prior experience with databases and Autocad preferred.
  • Valid drivers license.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate data related to drilling operations (surface, underground, and jackhammer). Enter pillar data, jackhammer data, and diamond drill data into databases. Review and import assay data into the database. Review and ensure all drilling data is complete and communicate the status with surveying, mine geology, and the core room.
  • Maintain the prospecting maps to ensure integrity and availability of information. Finalize drill hole data and post to prospecting maps. Analyze new and historic data to validate accuracy, prepare for use in the software package, and report as necessary. Assist in auditing the annual resource estimate. Assist in all aspects of geological data management, evaluating assay data, and determining quality performance with QAQC in the exploration department.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support including scheduling and organizing events, training, tours, or meetings. Manage the calendar for meeting rooms including prep, setup and tear down. Provide other administrative support as needed.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, AutoCAD, and SQL databases, using queries, and identifying data errors.
  • Well organized with the ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced attention to detail and accuracy skills.

Environmental Conditions, Physical and Lifting Requirements:

  • Regularly uses telephone/radio and computer/tablet.
  • General office environment. Exposed to quiet noise levels, occasionally exposed to moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Frequently requires sittin , talking, and hearing; occasionally requires standing and walking. Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 15 pounds.
