Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Business Unit Controller reports to the Corporate Controller, and is responsible for financial reporting for Gorbel, Inc., Ravenwood Golf Club, Inc., and associated supporting US businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparation, auditing, and analysis of financial statements for US Operations. Oversees preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, product line income statements, and other management reports as requested. Prepares financials for presentation to US management. Seeks ways to facilitate timely and accurate reporting.
  • Responsible for coaching and development of professional accounting direct reports (currently 5).
  • Provide supporting schedules and information for the timely completion of various outsourced tax returns including federal, and state filings (e.g., research and development credit schedules and foreign sourced income schedules)
  • Responsible for building complex models and analysis including: return on investment calculations, project specific cash flow analysis
  • Prepares/Leads preparation of all information needed for annual financial audit related to US Entities.
  • Leads general accounting functions. Leads credit management in concert with Accounting Manager and AR Coordinators.
  • Responsible for US Sales and Use tax compliance including: completing state registrations and disclosure reporting as required.
  • Responsible for filing annual/biennial reports with the various Secretary of State offices for entities registered to do business in the US.
  • Prepares forecasts for quarterly franchise tax, PTET, and shareholder tax payments for all US entities. Responsible for timely payment.
  • Leads and/or participates in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Independently or as part of a team identifies and implements business process improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading accounting/finance functions.
  • Experience building complex models and forecasts.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company.
  • Proven ability to develop and grow direct and indirect reports.
  • Strong ERP knowledge and Excel skills.
  • High self-awareness and emotional maturity; low ego.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Experience with Syteline ERP.
  • Experience in a wide range of tax matters: sales and use, corporate, multi-state.
  • Experience working in a system of S-Corp and LLC structures.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Min. $106,577 - Max $159,865
