Job Title: Injection Mold Manager

Job Description

The Injection Mold Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the plastic production department while overseeing manufacturing activities. The role involves overseeing and executing injection/blow molding processes, troubleshooting processing issues, and improving cycle times. The manager ensures that molding processes are current and documented, provides technical leadership for the production department, and implements process, material, and equipment improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute injection/blow molding processes, troubleshooting processing issues and improving cycle times

  • Ensure molding processes are current and documented

  • Provide technical leadership for the production department, implementing process, material, and equipment improvements

  • Maintain inventory for the department

  • Implement in-process controls to maintain product quality

  • Plan the production schedule to meet customer promise date requirements

  • Train employees, assign and direct work

  • Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products

  • Review production and operating reports

  • Inspect machines, equipment, and work environment to ensure operational performance

  • Coordinate with other departments within manufacturing

  • Cross-train workers for maximum production flow

  • Maintain ISO 9001 procedures

  • Prepare reports as requested from management

Essential Skills

  • Plastic injection molding

  • Injection mold

  • 3-5 years of experience in injection mold either managing, supervising, or leading a small group or team

  • Oversee and execute molding processes

  • Troubleshooting processing issues

  • Improving cycle times

  • Process experience

  • Experience with 35-250 ton presses

  • Continuous improvement

  • Tooling

  • Automation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in injection/blow mold manufacturing

  • Ability to lead a small group or team

  • Operate computer - MS Office, Word, and Excel

  • Interpersonal skills - open to others' ideas and willingness to try new things

  • Dependability - consistently at work and on time

  • Adaptability - adapt to changes in the work environment

  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean manufacturing setting, with some areas designated as clean rooms requiring gowning. The facility is temperature-controlled with good lighting. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call duties in emergencies. There is flexibility on start time, but work must extend past 2:30 PM to ensure knowledge transfer with the second shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00
