Stantec Senior Business Development Leader (Part-time) in Virginia

Senior Business Development Leader (Part-time) - ( 2400035K )

Description

Many of the world’s top engineers and scientists come together in our Water business because they view a community’s interaction with water a bit differently—as a single holistic system, rather than unconnected networks divided by jurisdictional boundaries. Working throughout the hydrologic cycle, we are delivering sustainable solutions to make sure water is where it should be and available when needed. Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource for future generations. By 2025 we’re hiring 2,000 people (like you) to join our team. Grow with us, H2O+U.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Development Leader to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) operations, having spent a significant part of their career within the organization. This role will focus on leveraging this experience to grow our USACE account, win new work, and build strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders. Time commitment will vary from week to week.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to grow the USACE account.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within USACE, including federal contracts, partnerships, and other relevant ventures.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with USACE decision-makers, key influencers, and other stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with company goals and objectives.

  • Provide strategic insights and guidance on navigating USACE procurement processes, contract requirements, and compliance issues.

  • Lead and support proposal development, including the preparation of technical and cost proposals tailored to USACE requirements.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify potential impacts and opportunities for the business.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings relevant to USACE and federal contracting.

  • Report on business development activities, progress, and results to senior management.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proven track record of successful business development and account growth within the federal sector, specifically with USACE.

  • In-depth knowledge of USACE organizational structure, procurement processes, and contracting mechanisms.

  • Strong network of contacts within USACE and related federal agencies.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective business development plans.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a part-time capacity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in various capacities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
