The Team: The Investor Relations business of S&P Global Market Intelligence is a global leader in providing market intelligence, data, advisory, and technology solutions to publicly traded companies around the world. With the recent combination of IPREO, IHS, and S&P brands, our team matches decades of experience servicing Corporate Equity and Debt Issuers with cutting edge technology and data.

Responsibilities and Impact: The Sales Director will lead regional commercial efforts to both existing clients and new logos in our rapidly growing Market Intelligence division at S&P. The Director will be responsible for achieving revenue targets in their assigned territory and will be granted the autonomy to partner with Marketing, Strategy, and Product to find innovative ways to meet our customer needs and drive growth for the commercial organization.

  • Drive new client sales within your assigned regional territory.

  • Partner with the Account Executive team to deliver existing clients sales within your assigned regional territory.

  • Travel to meet existing clients and prospective clients and learn about their business challenges.

  • Represent S&P’s brand in your assigned territory by hosting client events, on-sites, and marketing events, including NIRI chapter events.

  • Build deep and meaningful relationships with VP level and C-suite executives across a broad range of public companies.

  • Learn next generation technologies that harness artificial intelligence, machine learning, and proprietary data to deliver impactful insights.

  • Grow and evolve within an industry that is experiencing rapid change and new products to keep pace.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $121,757 to $244,700. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of B2B consultative selling experience and demonstrated track record of success diagnosing client needs and prescribing solutions.

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Economics, CFA, and/or requisite knowledge of the financial markets.

  • Proven ability to manage complex deal cycles and negotiations, which has resulted in significant revenue growth.

  • Creativity to uncover new partnerships, drive new product and advisory capabilities, and local new sources of revenue.

  • Mastery of sales enablement software including Salesforce and associated reporting tools.
