The role we are offering you:
At CAE the Accountant II supports by preparing and analyzing financial statements while working closely with business and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy and IFRS compliance. They contribute to the overall financial story regarding actual performance and coordinate with the forecasting team on necessary adjustments to forward looking projections. The Accountant II implements best practices, streamlines processes and enables efficient workflow to ensure timely reporting. They contribute to the monthly financial close process for multiple business entities. Are you ready to:
Own financial statements, reporting and any related variance analysis
Partner with the Finance leadership to ensure financial reports comply with IFRS
Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial information including management of the overall financial close process
Maintain industry and company knowledge to enhance variance explanations and financial reporting
Execute internal and external audit activities to meet prescribed timeframes & deadlines
Ensure all stakeholders receive timely, accurate updates at least monthly to assess performance and proactively steer decisions
Drive process improvement and proactively identify cost reduction opportunities
Assist in projects including but not limited to:
Financial statement and reporting governance
Various analysis and reporting
Streamlining compliance requirements
Contribute to business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives (HFM, Oracle, Hyperion) where appropriate
Any other tasks or duties as agreed with Finance Team Lead
Our ideal candidate has:
University degree in accounting or finance required
CPA license preferred
MBA or graduate degree preferred
Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field required
In depth knowledge of accounting principles, public company financial reporting & practices
Has experience collaborating with or leading a team of junior accountants
Well-established corporate consolidation knowledge
Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
Expert in creating and overseeing financial statements, reports and models
Ability to learn financial requirements of existing/new/different countries
Able to thrive in a team environment and contribute to team objectives
Effectively manage stress and work well under pressure
Knowledge and skill to break down complex concepts into easy to understand action items
Excellent presentation skills
Expert in creating and overseeing financial statements, reports and models
Ability to develop reporting and effectively present ad hoc and diverse information to executives
Proven ability to analyze business financial performance and implement appropriate measures to maximize financial performance
Able to thrive in an often fast paced and deadline-oriented global business requiring development and refinement of processes and procedures
Essential knowledge and experience in Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Enterprise preferred
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Applications required (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
Knowledge and experience in Oracle preferred
Able to work flexible hours (may include weekends and/or public holidays)
