Job Summary:

The Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business at West Texas A&M University is seeking applications for tenure track positions in economics, finance, computer information systems, hospitality management, management and/or entrepreneurship. West Texas A&M University is located on a 170-acre campus in Canyon, Texas, with two additional support center facilities in neighboring Amarillo, Texas.  The Amarillo, Texas area is an affordable and growing metropolitan area of approximately 350,000, serving as a primary service area for Northwest Texas, Southwest Oklahoma, Southwest Kansas, Eastern New Mexico, and Southeast Colorado. University enrollment is approximately 10,000 students. The Paul & Virginia Engler College of Business is a school accredited by the AACSB with 1,250 undergraduate and 1,150 graduate students. The college seeks individuals who can work with a variety of students and have experience in undergraduate and graduate accounting courses at an AACSB-Accredited College of Business.

Applicants with specializations in all disciplines will be considered. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester.  The compensation package is competitive for AACSB-accredited institutions. Additional compensation for summer teaching and service is available. In addition, the university provides excellent faculty teaching and research support, including access to CRSP and COMPUSTAT via the WRDS interface.

Successful applicants must demonstrate their commitment to quality teaching in the traditional and online formats, professional service, and scholarly activities consistent with AACSB accreditation. In addition, candidates must possess strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, initiative, and the ability to excel in a student-focused environment.

Work Performed:

The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to quality teaching, professional service, and scholarly activity consistent with the college definition of Scholarly Academic for AACSB accreditation.

Necessary Qualifications:

Competitive candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics, finance, computer information systems, hospitality management, management, entrepreneurship or closely related field or be close to completing a Ph.D. by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference is given to candidates that can teach macroeconomics, money & banking, corporate finance, cybersecurity, programming, business analytics, hospitality management, management, or entrepreneurship.
