Medical Mutual of Ohio BI Quality Assurance Analyst in United States

The BI Quality Assurance Analyst, depending on level, consistently examines data reports and visualizations to locate miscalculations, coding errors or other programming inaccuracies, and evaluates soundness of analytical methodology. Communicates the results of the analysis and informs developers of program logic changes. Examines data from various data sources to optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected, resolve data quality problems, and collaborate with I.T. teams to improve data integrity. This position also provides and suggests analytic insights directly to internal business partners, providing them analytical solutions to their business problems and to meet their goals.

BI Quality Assurance Analyst I

Performs entry level quality assurance processes and assists Lead Quality Assurance Analyst with projects that support internal or external business initiatives and data needs. Partakes in team review of requirements and design documentation processes to understand overall test strategies and test plans.

BI Quality Assurance Analyst II

Independently perform quality assurance processes and assist Lead Quality Assurance Analyst with projects that support internal or external business initiatives and data needs. Participates and engages in team review of requirements and design documentation processes to understand overall test strategies and test plans.

Sr. BI Quality Assurance Analyst

Working in collaboration with various technical and non-technical teams, the Senior BI Quality Assurance Analyst will drive quality assurance activities for technical and analytical work related to business requirements that support internal or external business initiatives and data needs.

Lead BI Quality Assurance Analyst

The Lead BI Quality Assurance Analyst’s role will drive collaboration and strategic-thinking aiming to avoid problems when delivering solutions and ensuring data results and business requirements meet the objectives of internal and external business partners. Works with leadership to define annual strategic priorities and articulate cross-functional work plans. Manages multiple projects with competing deadlines and works with team and leadership to prioritize deliverables. Establishes and evolves formal QA processes, ensuring that the team uses industry best practices. Acts as key point of contact for all QA aspects providing QA services and coordinating QA resources. Provides coaching and mentoring to junior and senior BI Quality Assurance Analysts including facilitating knowledge transfer and advance staff development.

Responsibilities

BI Quality Assurance Analyst I

  • Works in collaboration with various technical and non-technical teams to meet business and customer data needs and quality targets.

  • Works with peers and leadership to retain knowledge of BI decision support solutions [dimensions, workflows, and visualizations] and absorb the concept of business requirements and its implementation [lifecycle, requirement preparation, analysis, testing, and presentation].

  • Participates in requirements gathering sessions with BA and BI programming teams to understand the functionality, usability, and support requirements needed to deploy an analytic solution to business partners.

  • Become knowledgeable of quality assurance activities across teams and build knowledge of test case scenarios.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

BI Quality Assurance Analyst II

  • Works independently and collaboration with various technical and non-technical teams to meet business and customer data needs and quality targets.

  • Works with peers and leadership to retain knowledge of BI decision support solutions [dimensions, workflows, and visualizations] and absorb the concept of business requirements and its implementation [lifecycle, requirement preparation, analysis, testing, and presentation].

  • Actively participates in requirements gathering sessions with BA and BI programming teams to understand the functionality, usability, and support requirements needed to deploy an analytic solution to business partners.

  • Independently documents and implements test plans, identifies technical problems, and presents solutions against QA standards and specifications.

  • Independently analyzes problems and identifies all impacted areas and provides feedback on gap/anomalies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Sr. BI Quality Assurance Analyst

  • Coordinate quality assurance activities across teams to meet business and customer needs. Accountable for ensuring the quality outcomes of assigned projects and requests.

  • Lead the QA effort in the full lifecycle of Health Informatics data projects to ensure that business requirements and quality targets are met

  • Participate in team review of requirements/design documentation and prepare the overall test strategy and test plan

  • Lead and actively participate in test case development and execution for assigned projects and requests

  • Collaborates closely with peers and management within the department as well as throughout the organization to ensure that BI/decision support solutions are comprehensively analyzed and recommendations for improvements are presented and implemented.

  • Coordinate with appropriate internal stakeholders to communicate testing tasks, provide clear status updates and notify stakeholders of risk/issue escalations where needed

  • Documents and implements test plans, identifies technical problems, and presents solutions against standards and specifications

  • Identify ways to improve overall product and process quality

  • Analyze problems and identify all impacted areas and provide feedback on the gap/anomalies in the requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Lead BI Quality Assurance Analyst

  • Coach and mentor team BI Quality Assurance team members. Works with junior and senior QA Analysts to understand quality assurance activities, communicate testing tasks and estimates, audit gap analysis and workflow processes for new processes or improve on existing ones.

  • Works methodically to coordinate and monitor quality assurance activities to meet business and customer requirements and that quality targets are met. Censor innovative ways to give business partners a positive experience and ease of use capabilities.

  • Observe and consult BI and BA teams to apply program development best practices and data auditing concepts to match/ comply with business requirements.

  • Accompany BI teams to business requirement sessions to further understand and prepare for test plans and strategy.

  • Manages multiple projects and scope with competing deadlines. Collaborates with BI teams and department leadership to prioritize deliverables. Monitor project deliverables and create reporting for leadership teams.

  • Lead and/or conduct investigations on technical/data issues, implement test plans, process improvements, and present solutions to department leadership. Serve as subject matter expert on health care reporting. Interpret and explore trends, patterns, and relationships between data sources.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to establish instrumentation and reporting standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BI Quality Assurance Analyst I

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, IT/Computer Science is preferred or collective experience, training, and education

  • 0-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, conducting business requirements, and/or healthcare data analytics environment.

  • Healthcare background preferred

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding and working with a variety of systems (e.g., MS Office, Tableau, SAS, SQL Server and/or other platforms and technologies).

  • PROC SQL writing skills with the ability to understand and document business workflow and data flow processes.

BI Quality Assurance Analyst II

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, IT/Computer Science is preferred or collective experience, training, and education

  • 2-4 years of experience in Quality Assurance, conducting business requirements, and/or healthcare data analytics environment.

  • Healthcare background preferred

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding and working with a variety of systems (e.g., MS Office, Tableau, SAS, SQL Server and/or other platforms and technologies).

  • PROC SQL writing skills with the ability to understand and document business workflow and data flow processes.

Sr. BI Quality Assurance Analyst

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in experience

  • 4 -6 years in QA and/or healthcare data analytics environment.

  • Proficiency with QA concepts, issues, methods, and tools

  • Healthcare background preferred

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of variety of systems (e.g., MS Office, SAS, SQL Server and/or other platforms and technologies)

  • Experience working with relational databases

  • Exceptionally detail oriented, with a willingness to dive deep into the data

Lead BI Quality Assurance Analyst

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, IT/Computer Science, or equivalent in experience.

  • 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance best practices, conducting business requirements, and/or healthcare data analytics environment.

  • Healthcare background preferred.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Quality Assurance Certification preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding and working with a variety of systems (e.g., MS Office, Tableau, SAS, SQL Server and/or other platforms and technologies). Proficient with QA monitoring tools and Microsoft Office software and other data analytic tools.

  • Strong PROC SQL writing skills with the ability to digest and document business workflow and data flow processes.

  • Working with minimal direction, initiate projects, and demonstrate significant flexibility to coordinate complex activities that are often subject to rapid or extensive changes or revisions.

  • Extremely detail oriented. Ability to lead conceptualization, development, and execution of new data sources or enhancements to existing data sources, dive deep into the data.
