We currently have a permanent, full-time boiler operator position with a Dairy Processing Plant for a MN 1st Class B Licensed Boiler Operator. This is for either the 2 PM to 10 PM shift or 10 PM to 6 AM.

Job Description:

1. Perform all duties related to boiler operation, maintenance, recordkeeping and ensuring that the boilers are running safely, efficiently and working properly.

2. Perform preventative maintenance.

3. Keep chemical pumps in working order.

4. Responsible for the Ammonia compressors and the Ammonia system to attain the desired temperature from the refrigeration system.

5. Perform maintenance on the Ammonia Refrigeration system following standard operating and safety procedures.

6. Communicate well between supervisor, other shifts and departments.

7. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.

8. Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed.

9. Provide assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.

Skills:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred.

• Must have a valid Minnesota Boiler Operators license, 1st Class B or above.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the safety and operation of Power Plant Equipment Preferred:

• Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration.

• Prior boiler operator experience in the food manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
