Summary This is a competitive Career Development Detail for 120 days and can be extended, if necessary, in increments of 120 days up to but no more than 1 year. Multiple selections may be made. This remote position is located in the Budget Execution Division (BED) within the Office of Planning and Budget under the Office of Chief Financial Officer. This position serves as a Budget Analyst. SELECTEE(s) will be assigned to the detail position at his/her current grade level. Responsibilities SELECTEE(s) will be assigned to the detail position at his/her current grade level. TELEWORK: This position is eligible for maximum telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy. REMOTE WORK: Remote work will be considered. THIS DETAIL IS OPEN TO CURRENT DEPARMENT OF COMMERCE EMPLOYEES EMPLOYED WITH THE FOLLOWING BUREAUS: Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Census Bureau, Economic Development Administration (EDA), Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs (OUS/EA), International Trade Administration (ITA), Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Technical Information Service (NTIS), National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and Office of the Secretary (OS) The duties and responsibilities for the Budget Analyst Detail Opportunity generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates the development and maintenance of detailed spending plans. Monitors, analyzes and reports on current year spending. Prepares monthly spending estimates. Interprets OMB directives and circulars. Makes recommendations on reprogramming of funds as needed. Performs administrative and analytical duties related to budget execution. Develops cost-benefit analysis of proposed budgetary and program actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications As indicated above, this detail is open to all current non-probationary, GS-11 and GS-12 Department of Commerce employees with at least a FULLY SUCCESSFUL in the most recent performance rating.To be eligible for this position, the candidate must possess: Desired Qualification Requirements: Applicants with bachelor's or other postsecondary degree are preferred. Buget and/or Finance Background/work experience The applicant must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
