Claims Assistant - Liability

Sedgwick is now seeking a proactive, driven and experienced Claims Assistant to join our team. In this exciting career opportunity you will be responsible for ensuring all administrative duties on a claim are performed and managed efficiently. You will also work with your direct line manager and peers to ensure the best possible customer and client experience is provided

What are my accountabilities?

  • Making first contact with Policyholders/Brokers upon receipt of new instructions and booking of adjuster appointments when required

  • Collaborate with loss adjusting colleagues to deliver the most effective claims settlement solution to ensure claim life is reduced to the fullest extent it can be

  • Maintain proactive communication with the customer, client and colleagues about the progress of their claim

  • Manage incoming correspondence and indexing to correct claims

  • Assisting Loss Adjusting colleagues, including drafting and distributing reports and appointing internal and external contractors

  • Ensure effective adoption and utilization of our electronic claims management, including ensuring all are complete and up to date

  • Proactively monitor WIP and generate invoices, coordinate approval and issue to clients as soon as possible

  • Assist with supporting the broader Claims Support team

About you :

  • A minimum of 12 months professional work experience (ideally within insurance)

  • Demonstrated customer service experience

  • Able to demonstrate experience of the adjusting and handling claims process from instruction to conclusion

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and general IT literacy

  • Confident and detailed with data entry requirements

  • Motivated, self-sufficient and able to work under minimal supervision

  • Committed to gaining the relevant knowledge and skill for the professional and technical requirements of the job.
