THE ROLE

As a trustworthy leader, the Director, HR will provide support and guidance to the Partners and Leaders across our Artist Management groups and various other joint ventures (JVs) of Live Nation.

A strong candidate will demonstrate that they can easily build relationships with business leaders, quickly learn the nuanced structures of various entities, as well as advise on all HR-related matters in a fast-paced environment.

The role is considered a subject matter expert in navigating employee relations and is well-versed in consulting on how Live Nation’s employee programs and systems can serve the groups they support. The Director is part of the Company’s broader HR Leadership team, reporting directly to Live Nation’s SVP of Human Resources.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Provide tactical human resource leadership on business issues affecting unique and sometimes complex entities, manage day-to-day operations of the HR function, and provide input for problem-solving, consistency, fairness and/or action planning.

  • Responsible for leading, mentoring and growing the skillset of a team of 3 including HR Manager, Recruiter/Generalist and HR Coordinator.

  • Lead their team to be subject matter experts in the tools and processes they use daily – Workday, employee relations processes, policy interpretation and application and will ensure recruiting, onboarding and offboarding processes as well as general HR support for various joint ventures and acquisitions align with LNE best practices.

  • Handle confidential matters and perform support functions which require a broad and comprehensive knowledge of Company policies and procedures.

  • Work to investigate, document and resolve employee disciplinary issues including employee relations complaints/investigations, performance improvement plan (PIP) implementation and involuntary terminations according to law, company policy and precedent and escalate when appropriate. Prepare complaint investigation reports including recommendations for corrective action across LNE.

  • Review and improve key employee relations processes, set up, manage and deliver best practices across Artist Management JVs and acquisitions.

  • Respond to employee and management questions, requests and concerns in an effective and timely manner.

  • Partner with the Legal team to ensure operational compliance with Federal, state and local legal/ regulatory requirements across the landscape of core HR Operations, and partner with HR Operations & Risk Management to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.

  • Build strong working relationships with all LNE COEs i.e., Benefits, HRIS, Training, and Compensation .

  • Ensures compliance with and highlights to wider team relevance of any legal or regulatory changes pertaining to labor, wage and hour, and employment laws, including manager communication/training.

  • Advocate and support use of Workday as a primary source of all HR Administration – encourage and train managers on the functionality and value of self-service features.

  • Proficiency in all HR-related administrative activities as required in Workday and other systems utilized.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • Minimum 7 years of HR experience preferred

  • Build trusting and lasting relationships that allow leaders to seek you out for input, guidance and advise

  • Ability to manage conflict effectively and productively

  • Ideally, the candidate will have experience delivering high-quality HR support to a varied client group

  • Ability to handle difficult, sensitive, and confidential situations with integrity and professionalism

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with a diverse group of people both internally and externally

  • Ability to learn quickly, and work with minimal supervision and with a team

  • Experience in interacting and communicating with all levels of business operations

  • Ability to anticipate/solve problems with a sense of urgency; manage changing/multiple priorities, and superior interpersonal, communication and presentation capability

  • Ability to work closely with others as part of a team while being able to take full responsibility for owning an initiative end-to-end

  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Advanced MS Office Skills

  • BS/BA with emphasis in HR preferred

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification preferred

The expected compensation for this position in California is:

$128,000.00 USD - $160,000.00 USD
