CNC Software Director, Software Engineering in United States

Location: Pune, IndiaYour Role at a Glance

The Director of Software Engineering is responsible for the oversight, development, coordination, and staffing of multiple globally distributed development teams in our Agile environment. This role oversees the software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions, along with managing the staffing and budgeting for these teams, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and utilized. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and excellent leadership skills.

How You’ll Drive SuccessSoftware Development

  • Develop and implement software engineering strategies, standards, and processes to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of software products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to define and prioritize product features and requirements.

  • Oversee the architecture and design of software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Drive continuous improvement in software development practices, tools, and methodologies.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet business objectives.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains competitive.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Establish a collaborative and high-performing environment within the development team, fostering innovation and continuous learning.

  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their capabilities and performance.

  • Provide proactive alignment and context for team members, ensuring clear communication centered on performance and positive progress toward team objectives.

  • Work closely with the Chief Technology Officer to execute innovation and development initiatives, ensuring timely translation of product strategies into sound development solutions.

The Talents We’re SeekingEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years’ experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of success delivering complex software solutions in a timely manner and within budget.

  • Strong technical expertise in agile software development, with proven architecture and design expertise and hands-on knowledge of modern programming languages and tools such as C#, C++, Python and Git. Experience developing in Visual Studio for Windows is a plus.

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a keen ability to execute and drive projects to a positive conclusion.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once, projecting a positive outward demeanor.

  • Solid time management skills and a proven track record of working successfully in a team environment.

  • Willingness to travel as needed, including internationally.

Preferred Skills

  • Communication Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and capable of delivering information in a timely and succinct manner.

  • Collaborative Approach: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships, work in a decentralized organization, and engage with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, budget, and manage resources efficiently.

  • Team Collaboration: A collaborative team player who communicates clearly and persuasively.
