Quantum-Si Field Application Scientist, Northwest AMR in United States

We are seeking a Field Application Scientist to support sales and customers as the technical product and application expert. The role reports into the Senior Director, Field Applications and Enablement. A successful candidate will have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial work ethic, strong proteomics background, and excellent communication and presentation skills. This person will work closely with sales, product management, market development, and marketing.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct customer pre-sales meetings, seminars, and demos.

  • Understand and communicate technical details of QSI’s product line and applications.

  • Identify customer needs and/or problems, and understand how to partner with internal colleagues to knowledgeably provide solutions using QSI’s reagents, kits, and assay product placement.

  • Independently or in partnership present technical seminars remotely or in-person.

  • Mindfully promote product positioning and messaging in all customer interactions.

  • Champion customer requested applications to Senior FAS for further support, Market Development and/or Product Management for further consideration.

  • On site demos: Partner to develop detailed experimental plan, expected outcomes, and set expectations.

  • Manage Technical Support cases via CRM (SFDC) – e-mail, phone, site visits.

  • Manage onsite and remote installation trainings of QSI’s system and reagent product workflow.

  • Drive instrument utilization of current install base through collaboration with sales and detailed project plans with customers.

  • Determine when instrument repairs are needed and initiate repair process.

  • Troubleshoot instrument, software, kit, or application problems and escalate through the appropriate internal channels as required.

  • On-going collaboration with Marketing functions assisting with updating product & training collateral, delivering webinars, and attending tradeshows.

Location and Travel Expectations:

  1. This position is remote and based on the West Coast, preferably within the San Francisco, CA area.

  2. This position will require travel not to exceed 75% (3 weeks per month).

  3. Scheduling of site visits will be your responsibility and is subject to approval by FAS manager.

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, or related field.

  • Masters/PhD preferred but not required if you have 3+ years lab experience.

  • Prior employment in similar technical support roles requiredOR combination of lab experience with technical support component.

  • Theoretical or technical background in one or all the following: Proteomics, Mass Spectrometry, NGS.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

  • Takes initiative and wants to career development.

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $90,000 - $110,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
