Job Summary:
The Field Services Engineer II (China) works under supervision and uses established procedures to maximize product performance by supporting and resolving product issues quickly, efficiently and to customer satisfaction. The Field Services Engineer II participates in engineering design review and testing of products, supports accident investigations as necessary, provides technical support and training for the end user at customer site and ensures customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
Respond to and troubleshoot Airline and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customer technical inquiries
Develop technical training materials for end user customer and provide onsite and off-site training for customers
Perform detailed failure analysis of electronics components and write failure reports
Conduct new product Entry into Service (EIS) programs
Conduct in-service evaluations, aircraft certification and integration testing; Direct various on-wing tests, monitor and resolve complex technical in-service issues, and provide design engineers with product feedback
Support flight safety investigations, write reports and manage inter-company communications
Develop, mentor and coach internal resources
Maintain general knowledge of CFR, FAR, SFAR’s (Federal Aviation Regulations)
Maintain general knowledge of outside agencies such as FAA, CAAC, NTSB, ICAO, JAA, EASA, and their services
Support New Product Development Phase (NPDP) Process
Participate Critical Design Review (CDRs), and Program Design Review (PDRs)
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
Participate in various industry symposiums, conferences and meetings
Build and maintain various Product Support databases
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years relevant work experience
Knowledge: Bi-lingual fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, working knowledge of the airline industry, airline products, airline support requirements, and regulatory requirements; Working knowledge of aircraft systems and shop level maintenance; Working knowledge of MS Projects; Working knowledge of Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS);Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field; Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program
Skills/Abilities: Proficient with MS Office including TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;Demonstrated ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals.
Education/Certification: BA or BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline; OR Poly-Technical Institute Degree from a two-year college & 7+ years of relevant work experience.
E ligibility Requirement : Driver's License required; FAA, EASA, CAAC sensitive position – may be subject to local Governments security investigations to verify eligibility for access to classified information; Will be subject to random drug screens.
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA, EASA, CAAC Certified Repairman or Airframe & Powerplant License
Chinese National, or other nationality capable of obtaining a China work permit/visa
Experience working in other cultures and customs
Currently Live in or Near Shanghai, China
Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Visio; Experience with Minitab or Tableau
Working Conditions:
Travel may be required up to 50% - must have no travel restrictions.
Standard office environment: Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail.
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
May have special circumstances that require work at night, on weekends or on holidays; May need to be available by phone after work hours.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing and aircraft maintenance environment.
Flight Lines, Aerospace Workshops, and Manufacturing operations will require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: bump caps, eye safety glasses, high visibility vests, safety shoes, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
