This position is located in the Activity Based Information Division (ABID) within the Office of Chief Financial Officer. This position serves as a Financial Analyst. Experience with activity-based costing models preferred but not required. Ability to provide input and guidance on complex financial management issues. Ability to work closely with the cost accounting team and business unit customers to understand business processes and apply this understanding to cost accounting and management. Develop and monitor internal controls, identify problem areas, and devise solutions to improve effectiveness. Determine data requirements, conduct cost and financial analyses, and utilize data analytics tools such as Tableau for data visualization and insights. Review, analyze, and validate cost data, coordinate surveys and query systems for data gathering, and identify and resolve data discrepancies. Participate in special projects involving multiple organizations across the agency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications As indicated above, this detail is open to all current non-probationary, GS-12 and GS-13 Department of Commerce employees with at least a FULLY SUCCESSFUL in the most recent performance rating.To be eligible for this position, the candidate must possess: Desired Qualification Requirements: Applicants with bachelor's or other postsecondary degree are preferred.
