The role

As SoftwareOne's Global Microsoft Center of Excellence, we identify new business opportunities and work closely with our strategic partner, Microsoft, to design innovative, efficient technology solutions. We stay ahead of technology trends, define best practices, and create architectures to accelerate solution delivery and provide faster time-to-value for our customers. Responsible for global delivery and (Pre-) sales, we define training and enablement requirements across 19 locations, impacting over a thousand employees. As a credible voice in the Microsoft space, we share our expertise at industry events and webinars.

The Lead Azure Infra & Migrations Product Engineer is responsible for the development of products and services, best practices, and innovative approaches for solutions and services within the Microsoft CoE.

Combining strong expertise in the area of Azure Infrastructure & Migrations, you will work closely with the Global Product Manager, Product Owner, Service Design Lead, and Architect for Azure Infrastructure & Migrations. You will be accountable for building product features, ensuring product quality, and achieving timely market delivery.

Primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Product Build & Innovation : Lead the engineering efforts in creating repeatable Azure Infrastructure & Migration products, solutions, and accelerators. Capitalize on ongoing projects and the partnership with Microsoft to package cutting-edge offerings that accelerate time-to-value for SoftwareOne customers.  

  • Strategic Partnership : Collaborate with Microsoft, including the development of joint Azure & Migration offerings, to ensure our solutions are at the forefront of technology and meet market needs.

  • Product & Delivery : Implement delivery and product strategies that align with our corporate goals, driving growth and thought leadership in Azure Infrastructure & Migrations.  

  • Delivery Excellence : Enhance our delivery efforts by being a trusted advisor in the development of proposals, solution designs, and architectures, particularly for strategic customers and significant deals. Innovate by creating demos, POCs, and presales artifacts that highlight our value proposition.

  • Advanced Advisories : Contribute to our Microsoft Advisory services, utilizing our established methodology and delivery toolkit, while continuously refining our practices based on market trends and feedback.

  • SoftwareOne Microsoft Por t folio Development : Champion the development of our SoftwareOne Azure Infrastructure & Migrations offerings and product development, setting global delivery and engineering standards, and integrating repeatable components to stay ahead of technological advancements.

  • Delivery Enablement & Thought Leadership : Participate in delivery and pre-sales enablement initiatives, providing expertise and knowledge transfer to enhance delivery effectiveness. Establish yourself as a thought leader through contributions to industry consortia and by having a presence at local and international industry events

What we need to see from you

  • Azure Infrastructure Management: At least 3-5 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure solutions.

  • On-Premises Infrastructure Management: At least 2-3 years of experience in managing on-premises technology infrastructure.

  • Cloud Migration Leadership: Proven track record in leading successful cloud migration projects, particularly to Azure, within enterprise environments.

  • DevOps & Integration: Experience working in DevOps environments with a focus on integrating Azure solutions into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Client-Focused Support: Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting for Azure-based solutions in a client-facing role.

  • Certifications required:

  • Microsoft Certified: AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate

    Technical Skills:

    Azure Expertise:

    Proficient in Azure services like VMs, networking, storage, Active Directory, and security.

    Azure Governance:

    Knowledgeable in Azure governance, implementing management groups, policies, blueprints, and RBAC.Automation & IaC:

    Skilled in Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, and Azure DevOps for infrastructure automation.Scripting:

    Adept in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for task automation and system integration.Advanced Networking:

    Comprehensive understanding of Azure networking, including VNETs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and DNS.Security Focus:

    Well-versed in Azure security, identity management, and encryption standards.Migration Mastery:

    Experienced with Azure Migrate, Site Recovery, and tools like CloudEndure for migrations and on-premises methodologies.
