We are currently seeking a Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist. This is a full-time position that will be primarily remotely based with travel required to client sites as needed.

The responsibilities of a Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate client and subrecipient activities (e.g., program expenditures, financial statements, and program activity narratives, etc.) and assess program effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with applicable compliance requirements and federal regulations.

  • Develop internal and externally facing monitoring reports that effectively convey findings, best practices, and recommendations.

  • Create templates, forms, tools, and other resources (e.g., presentations, webinars, frequently asked questions [FAQ] documents, or personalized training programs) to support client and subrecipient adherence to compliance requirements and federal regulations.

  • Develop and lead trainings and presentations for internal and external audiences, including governments and subrecipients.

  • Research, analyze, and maintain working knowledge of program requirements and policies, including federal and local regulations, laws, and guidance.

  • Execute analytical activities as requested by the client, while fielding responses to subrecipient inquiries.

  • Draft management- and client-level reports, memorandums, letters, and documents to maintain informed stakeholders and provide recommendations on best practices

Candidates for Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist must possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor-s degree from an accredited university or college in public administration, accounting, finance, public policy, political science, or a related field of study.

  • At least three (3) years of work experience working on federal grant programs, such as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants, United States (US) Treasury Grants, or US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants, or other federal grant award programs.

  • Substantial familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and knowledge of federal grant award regulations and laws.

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret program requirements and federal regulations.

  • Program monitoring knowledge and experience including the ability to review and analyze program documents to determine compliance adherence and develop corrective action recommendations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in conducting training in a virtual environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a team player who can establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders; has a can-do attitude and is willing to pitch in where needed to assist team members, hiring managers, and division leaders in pushing critical initiatives over the finish line.
