Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is based out of the US Army Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA), Army Material Command (AMC) Human Resources Directorate, Communication-Electronics Command Civilian Human Resource Service Center. Responsibilities Use personnel computer, word processing and/or other office automation equipment and various software programs to produce correspondence, memorandum, directives, forms reports; create or maintain spreadsheets or databases, etc. Respond to customer inquiries on such matters as procedures for filing applications, status of recruitment announcements, kinds of vacancies in the organization serviced and hiring procedures and announcements. Provide recruitment and placement support services to HR Specialists including planning, coordinating, and developing facts related to problems that arise in the area of responsibility. Assist in recruitment activities by arranging for physical examinations, verifying veterans preference, making job offers, coordinator EOD/release dates and processing pre-appointment security checks. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. For the GS-6 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing customer service related to human resources matters; 2) Utilizing automated systems to process actions such as coding personnel actions, in-processing new hires documentations, and preparing routine reports; AND 3) Assisting staffing specialists in carrying out a wide range of tasks related to recruitment and employee on- boarding. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). For the GS-7 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) ) Providing customer service related to human resources matters; 2) Utilizing automated systems to process actions such as coding personnel actions, in-processing new hires documentations, and preparing routine reports; 3) Assisting staffing specialists in carrying out a wide range of tasks related to recruitment and employee on-boarding; AND 4) Reviewing job requirements to determine qualified candidates for lower grade positions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
