Assistant Secretary for Human Resources Management Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) in United States

Summary The Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) position serve as a member of the EHRIS Reports Team Unit providing support as a Reports Team Data Analyst for the EHRIS program, and its key stakeholders managers. The Reports Team Data Analysts work closely with the Director, team members across the VA enterprise to retrieve data requirements to optimize the strategic alignment of business decisions for leadership. Responsibilities Support the integrity of data operations for an agency. Administer development of workforce data reports for an agency. Facilitate problem analysis within a customer workgroup. Analyze the effectiveness of Human Resource requirements to determine goals are met. Analyze management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems. Identify methods for improving data collection for an agency. Advise customers on the implementation and use of human resources automated systems Address incoming technical trouble calls from Human Resources Offices nationwide Assist in improving human resources business information systems, which result in improvements to information usability, validity and availability Foster team success within an agency to enhance office operations. Respond to current and future needs of a human resource community by implementing future data requirements. Identify system data to drive business decisions for an organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/09/2024. The Office of Personnel Management's (OPM's) group qualification standards covering white collar occupations in the Federal competitive service can be found: Here Specialized Experience: GS-13: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-12) in the federal service. Specialized experience is work experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: (1) Utilizing information systems to develop automated processes demonstrating high proficiency in computer technologies such as: Excel, SQL, and complex queries such as IBM Cognos Analytics. (2) Analyzing regulations to prepare strategic plans to resolve complex system issues (3) Developing data analysis reports creation using Business Intelligence (BI) tools for an organization; and (4) Leading team members within an agency to accomplish analytical projects. Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience you document, to include volunteer experience. Work Schedule: Regular office hours, Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Alternate work schedules may be available. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary.
