Role and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing various logistical operations to ensure efficient inventory management and smooth workflow within the organization. This role involves daily, weekly, and annual tasks related to inventory control, parts issuing, processing returns, and maintaining cleanliness in stockrooms. Additionally, the Logistics Specialist will actively seek opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with the team to implement innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Duties:

  • Conduct inventory checks of Ops (Test Equipment) Cabinets, reporting any discrepancies.

  • Retrieve return-to-stock items from cabinets, updating Gemini inventory system accordingly.

  • Process items received from Receiving, including electronic receiving, updating DR, and organizing items for pickup.

  • Issue parts to personnel as required, ensuring accurate record-keeping in Gemini.

  • Process "Orange Cards" for items removed from stock when clerks are unavailable, updating Gemini accordingly.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of stockrooms and workstations, including trash removal and tidying up.

Weekly Duties:

  • Perform AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and minimum quantity checks, initiating parts requests for items below desired quantities.

  • Annual Duties:

  • Conduct a full inventory count of all stocked items in Gemini, including auditing physical locations.

  • Update Gemini daily during the count and adjust part locations as necessary.

    Additional Duties:

  • Assist with packaging and shipping operations.

  • Aid in the movement of incoming items for updates or upgrades.

  • Create new stock locations as needed to optimize inventory management.

  • Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with the team to implement ideas.

  • Perform sweeping and mopping of stockrooms as required.

  • Remain flexible to adapt to changing duties as directed by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 0 – 2 years of experience in inventory management and logistics operations.

  • Familiarity with inventory management software, preferably Gemini.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Customer service focused.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.

  • Forklift experience is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of PCs and MS-Office tools and suite
