AIR is currently seeking aKnowledge Management and Evidence Synthesis Director (Pillar2)for theanticipatedUSAID-funded Optimizing Food Assistance Programs, Processes, and Products for Nutrition (O3P) activity.The activity will re-emphasize programming aspects of food assistance-driven nutrition programs whilefocusingon product optimization and process improvement.The activity closely aligns with AIR’s mission to generate and use evidence to contribute to a better/moreequitableworld and AIR’s areas of expertise in designing and implementing impact evaluations and evidence syntheses in international development.The project involves a strong emphasis on research, evidence synthesis, and knowledge translation to contribute to evidence-based policy.

The position is contingent upon award. The position is based in Africa.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of strategies and activities under Pillar 2, ensuring alignment with the O3P’s overallobjectives.

  • Manage information andaccruedknowledge to create, share, and use both efficiently and strategically for an international community of users,leveragingthe existing ecosystem of platforms and tools.

  • Foster strong networks and communities of practice to facilitate learning and innovation within the realm of food assistance.

  • Collaborate with a diverse array of partners and stakeholders,leveragingexisting platforms and tools to enhance knowledge management and evidenceutilization.

  • Providetechnical oversight of all PillarIIdeliverables, ensuring they meet the project’s quality standards and USAID expectations.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Phddegree or MScin a relevant field such as Information Science, Knowledge Management,Economics,Public Health, or International Development.

  • Proven leadership in knowledge management and evidence syntheses in international development research and evaluation.

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in knowledge managementand systematic reviews, preferably in sectors related to foodassistance, nutrition, or international development.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based programming in international development.

  • Demonstratedexpertisein developing and implementing effective knowledge management strategies in complex programs.

  • Experience in working with USAID or other international donor-funded projects is desirable but not required.

Skills:

  • Proficient in knowledge management tools and platforms.

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Capacityfor strategic thinking and planning.

  • Proficiencyin English.

  • Knowledge ofadditionallanguages is a plus but not required.
