Part-time (10 hours per week - flexible schedule) Maintenance Technician at Libertyville Centre Club in Libertyville, Illinois

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman/Handywoman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set to handle various maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring our facilities remain in top condition. They need to be a hands-on, problem-solving individual with a passion for maintaining a well-functioning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing equipment, fixing broken furniture, replacing light fixtures, and unclogging drains.

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

  • Identify and report the need for major repairs.

  • Repair drywall, including patching holes and cracks.

  • Perform painting tasks, including preparing surfaces and applying paint to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.

  • Replace lighting fixtures and light bulbs as needed.

  • Assemble, install, and repair electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems when qualified.

  • Assist with moving furniture, setting up meeting rooms, or other facilities-related tasks.

  • Ensure that tools, equipment, and workspace are kept clean, organized, and in good working condition.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management.

  • Maintain records of work completed and materials used.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.

  • Ability to perform basic carpentry, painting, and drywall repair tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

  • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.

  • Flu vaccination required.

Work Environment:

  • The role may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods.

  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying weather conditions.

  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

Compensation: $18/Hour - $25/Hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
