Huron Valley Ambulance is hiring full-time and part-time paramedics for our Washtenaw County operations. HVA paramedics are skilled, friendly, and professional - we pride ourselves on the character and caliber of our employees.

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, HVA provides EMS to all of Washtenaw County along with several large-scale special events, including U of M athletics. Our paramedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide both emergent and non-emergent transport, delivering patient care under hospital-approved medical protocols. Additional opportunities for paramedics include training in critical care transport and community paramedicine. HVA also has opportunities within their specialty teams including HazMat medical response, technical rescue, honor guard, tactical EMS, and bicycle medic teams.

Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid State of Michigan paramedic license
ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certified (PHTLS can be provided upon hire)
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Physically capable of meeting job requirements: lifting and moving patients, carrying medical equipment
Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical
Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with a diverse range of people
Job Duties
Maintain high clinical standards in all aspects of care.
Safely drive and operate ambulances.
Provide basic life support, including CPR, airway, suction, oxygen application, bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, etc.
Provide advanced life support, including ACLS, airway management, medication administration, IV administration, etc.
Provide convalescent care, including transporting sick, injured, and convalescent patients to and from medical facilities.
Proficiently and safely perform patient handling, including stretcher operations, lifting, and loading.
Treat patients with compassion and respect.
Interact professionally and courteously with patients, family members, facility staff, and co-workers.
