Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology Principal Architect in United States

Summary The Principal Architect is a Senior Advisor and senior-level professional reporting to the Chief Architect, Office of the Chief Technology Officer. The Principal Architect serves as an expert in the design, development, and implementation of complex technology solutions and enterprise level systems. Responsibilities 1. Manages and fosters teamwork and collaboration throughout a large distributed, and multiple-level organization, and in building strong collaborative relationships with peer functions. 2. Provides comprehensive consultations to the business, IT management, and staff at the highest technical level on architecture, integration, best practices, and industry standards and direction. 3. Design and develop architecture for software projects based on customer specifications, providing support in developing new products and upgrading existing products, and coordinating with the product development team in defining project scope and approaches. 4. Experience using technical expertise to recommend appropriate technical solutions for a variety of software development, architecture, and data challenges in complex environment. 5. Provide technical leadership and guidance in developing new products and upgrading existing products while identifying and evaluating emerging technologies and trends to optimize the architecture. 6. Serves as a senior-level professional and advisor to the Chief Architect and other OIT Executives. Demonstrates minimal ability to: - Provide consultations to the product lines and staff on technical aspects of architecture, integration, best practices, and industry standards. - Implemente architecture for technical projects based on customer specifications. - Coordinate with the product development team on project scope and approaches. -Articulate the current state and potential risks for enterprise and/or solution architecture in partnership with peers and relevant experts. - Evaluate emerging technologies for adoption to optimize the architecture.
