Primary Function

Responsible for the efficient operation of Manufacturing Department, the direction of the plant work force and the meeting of daily production schedules. Supervises and coordinates activities of Leaders and workers. Verifies correct manufacturing processes are adhered to. Works with other operators, engineers and quality personnel to identify and resolve potential customer issues.

Responsibilities

  • Able to work 2nd Shift

  • Supervise direct and indirect employees within the department.

  • Maintains time and attendance systems.

  • Complete daily reporting of production, scrap, rework, downtime, specific problems, and manning.

  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed by the employees and enforce those policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that work, quality, and setup instructions are followed and properly maintained within the department; employees are trained and knowledgeable of the instructions; identify and communicate any discrepancies, errors, or improvements with the instructions.

  • Promote continuous improvement in productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping.

  • Identify and implement employee training and development needs for the department.

  • Provide development opportunities for employees to strengthen and broaden their job knowledge and skill sets.

  • Work with Human Resources to administer appropriate employee discipline when required.

  • Ensure and promote a safe and harassment-free work environment for the employees.

  • Work within the framework of the Union contract.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • A four-year college degree preferred; a minimum of a two-year degree required.

  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels.

  • Results-oriented with good problem-solving and management skills.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or training

2-3 Years of Supervisory/Leadership Experience
