Radiologic Technologist Location: Gardner, MA Duration: 13 weeks Shift Information: All shifts - Rotating shifts Description: Job Summary: CT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist must be able to interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. A CT scan technologist must maneuver equipment and patients. This effort may pose physical challenges. CT scanners emit radiation, which can be harmful to the technologist and patient if proper safety procedures are not followed. Job Requirements Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, or equivalent Minimum Work Experience: Previous experience performing CT scan procedures is preferred or equivalent experience as determined by the Department Manager Experience on Toshiba CT Scanners is a plus Required Licenses: MA DPH Radiology License required ARRT (R) ARRT (CT) Required Skills: Other desirable attributes include: quality conscious, good interpersonal skills, flexible in achieving multiple tasks, dependable, organized, independent judgment, high technical skills Functional Demands: Physical Requirements: Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands). Occasionally stoop (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist), crouches (bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine), and feels (perceiving attributes of items as size, shape, temperature, or texture by means of the fingertips) Organizational Expectations: Behavioral Attributes: The following behavioral attributes are required: achievement motivation, concern for order, flexibility, initiative, self-confidence, self-control, customer service orientation, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork and information seeking.
