Position Title: Revit Model Manager

Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

Job Summary

The Revit Model Manager is a person passionate about the BIM process and supports the MEP Engineers across various groups. The scope of work will involve both small and large-scale mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection projects. This person will be responsible for creating and updating models, modeling and annotating all trades and general graphics and data management for their designated models.

The Revit Model Manager will work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team.

The Revit Model Manager will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.\u202F May work independently or under immediate supervision.\u202F May serve as trade lead on routine projects of limited scope.

The Revit Model Manager will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

Essential Functions

Production of Revit Documents (30%)

  • Utilize Revit MEP software to assist on project work \u2013 modeling and detailing to prepare drawings and visual aids

  • Collect data and other information for construction documents

  • Prepare project design and construction documents

  • Print pdf sets

    Revit Graphics Management (25%)

  • Diagnose and fix Revit visibility issues for the project team

  • Manage project and family graphics

  • Create new Tag Families and know how to work with labels within Tags and Titleblocks

  • Diagnose trouble categories within linked models and how to change their appearance

  • Research, understand and incorporate graphic standards from clients when required for a given project

  • Generate compelling views beyond plan views, such as Sections and 3d

    Model Management (25%)

  • Setup, Manage and Update Revit Models

  • Create new phases, worksets and design options when needed

  • Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of production

  • Monitor work products produced by staff to ensure Revit standards are maintained within project models

  • Develop Revit MEP families in response to project need

  • Resolve BIM design issues using a combination of Navisworks and Revit

    Revit Data Management (20%)

  • Create schedules, Panel Schedules, Note Blocks and Keynote Legends

  • Add new parameters to the project or families and know the difference between Built-In, Shared, Family and Project Parameters

  • Understand the difference between Instance and Type Parameters and when to use each

  • Add connectors to families and map parameters to push data to the project

  • Create special views and schedules within Revit, which issue alerts based on parameter values

    Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

    Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned

    Requirements

    Position Requirements (Intermediate level for all the following)

  • Knowledge of producing industry standard work products (e.g., construction drawings)

  • Skilled at using Revit MEP and BIM 360

  • Skilled at using Navisworks

  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management

  • Skilled at active listening, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times

  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail

  • Ability to pay close attention at project meetings, receptive to advice from more experienced team members, desire to grow as Revit user and model manager

  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace

  • Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others

  • Ability to manage production of multiple drawings / projects at the same time

  • Ability to work with engineers and design team to incorporate MEP design concepts into Revit and the ability to understand all parts of engineering construction documents

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)

  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines

  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements

  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence

  • Ability to work in interdepartmental groups in multi-role efforts

  • Ability to identify and analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives and implement effective solutions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is

  • Frequently required to remain in a stationary position

  • Frequently moving through office, facility and other environments

  • On occasion the employee may move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

    Travel / Relocation Requirements

  • Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states

  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.

    Education / Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience producing MEP construction documents using Revit
