AIG Risk Manager- Claims in United States

The Corporate Insurance team at AIG is responsible for managing insurance needs of the company and its various businesses.

This role will lead and drive claims recoveries across the Corporate Insurance portfolio including coordinating with internal stakeholders on claim submissions, obtaining and issuing quarterly updates on individual claims, responding to internal or external queries, producing bordereau reports and negotiating claims non-disclosure agreements. A key focus will be to establish claims management reporting and analysis including documentation of claim status and updates. There will also be an opportunity to offer support across other areas of Corporate Insurance Risk Management.

This is a unique role within Global P&C Carrier as it brings a high level of visibility internally. This individual must be comfortable liaising with and securing input from leaders on a regular basis, as well as comfortable consulting in review of coverage and renewals each year.

This role reports to the Global Head of Corporate Insurance.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Lead and drive recoveries across the Corporate Insurance portfolio including Financial Lines (Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Directors’ & Officers’ and Fiduciary Liability Insurance) & Casualty Claims (Auto Liability, General Liability & Workers’ Compensation);

• Coordinate AIG entities’ claim submissions with stakeholders, obtain and issue quarterly updates on individually reported claims respond to insurer inquiries, direct insurance tower calls with defense counsel and internal legal teams on sensitive claims and facilitate insurance recoveries;

• Produce and analyze yearly bordereau reports gathered from multinational teams;

• Negotiate claims non-disclosure agreements

• Oversee third party administrator (TPA) service delivery, contract and relationship;

• Coordinate claims responses with internal teams, TPA adjusters and other external vendors, respond to auto and GL claims served;

• Analyze claim trends, coverage effectiveness and implement strategic changes with broker assistance;

• Support Corporate Insurance’s internal financial reporting requirements;

• Additional areas of focus including divestiture support & providing guidance on contracts, leases and vendor reviews;

Qualifications and Experience

• Comprehensive working knowledge of insurance coverage in property & casualty lines including insurance related concepts, processes, and regulations

• Claims management & reconciliation experience preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, or related quantitative field of study

• 3+ years of relevant professional work experience recommended

• Excellent planning, organization, time management, prioritization and multitasking skills to accomplish deliverables on a timely basis

• Effective team player with proven track record of collaboration and coordination with other business areas

• Ability to develop, cultivate, and maintain excellent relationships within, and external to, the Company

For positions based in New York, NY the base salary range is $83,200-$104,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
