Responsibilities You will be responsible for applying knowledge of math, science, and engineering methodology and practices to solve a variety of component level through system of system level technical problems. You will lead research, design, development, test and deployment activities for Command, Control, Computers, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Business Information Technology (IT) systems and capabilities. You will assist NIWC Atlantic and its customers construct AI programs, establish and grow partnerships, and gain awareness of other data solutions. You will implement Data Science and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence concepts and algorithms to ensure data-centric problems are solved effectively and efficiently. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Lead and develop strategies for the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to include Machine Learning (ML) in projects across intelligence, business, readiness and defense domains. Education Data Science Series 1560 Qualifications Standard for Data Science Series, 1560 Associated Group Standard Use the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions for this series in conjunction with the Individual Occupational Requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience Additional Information This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories. The pay schedule and pay band for all Science & Engineering Positions will be ND-1/2/3/4/5. Recruitment/Relocation incentive may/may not be authorized. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
