AON Senior Application Development Lead in United States

What the day will look like

Work with multi-functional teams in the successful delivery of a new Broking Platform for Aon using analytical skills, agile methodologies, and software development outstanding practices.

Inspire, motivate and effectively communicate with project team members, measuring performance and giving appropriate feedback.

Work with multiple vendors in a variety of commercial types including staff augmentation, fixed bid, managed outcome, etc.

Collaborate with product owners to define objectives, product scope, roadmap and measures of success and envision the art of the possible.

Develop strategies and formulate technical solutions for rapid development of new Broking Platform.

Collaborate with global enterprise teams on emerging technology, standard setting, best in class practices and shared services.

Build or coordinate artifacts that are required in the SLDC process. Participate in architectural design collaborations with architects and other development leads.

Provide mentorship to development teams around React Frontend and API development.

Writes code as needed, particularly when its complex or difficult to achieve performance / scalability target, it is expected that majority of work will be spent working through others.

Perform frequent code reviews to ensure the highest possible standards for quality.

Ensure project is progressing on schedule and reporting appropriately.

Works with business leads, business analysts and quality lead to understand requirements and test strategy to validate business goals are met and ensure that software delivery is effective and efficient.

Be self-educating and self-motivating to stay at the forefront of technology while looking for opportunities to drive innovative business solutions. Educate and share knowledge with team members on new technology and tooling options.

You’ll be working with exceptional leaders across various solution lines and have the responsibility to own large parts of the product’s delivery.

Skills and experience that will lead to success.

  • Overall 8+years of IT experience with minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in .Net MVC and API development, React Frontend, Web Development using HTML5, CSS3, JS, etc.

  • 3 or more years of practical hands-on knowledge working with relational databases like SQL server and Oracle.

  • Experience as technical and team leader for at least 3 years.

  • Minimum 3+ years of Azure Cloud development.

  • Highly qualified in implementation of API Integrations and n-tier architecture application development

  • Experience with integrating, developing and troubleshooting Azure services such as Cosmos DB, Databricks, AI Search, Cognitive services and Fabric.

  • Experience of working in and leading global product development teams across multiple vendor partners in an Agile development environment

  • Experience in application testing

  • Solid understanding of the importance of Software security best-in-class practices pertaining to development and application dev testing.

  • Good familiarity with application architectures and design patterns

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree or equivalent experience in software engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

  • Communicate with clarity and confidence to both technical audience and business users. Commitment to delivering high quality outcomes.

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The target salary range for this position is $130,000- $140,000. annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans. The amount of the incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
