Duke Energy Senior Business Analyst (Energy Services Business Support) in United States

This position is on the Energy Services Business Support Team. It provides business analysis and operational effectiveness for the sales, marketing, and operations groups within a fast-paced culture servicing commercial, industrial and institutional accounts. Responsibilities include business analysis and project management support to deploy effective processes and technologies, dataset management, reporting and dashboard development to inform business decisions and visually tell the story, content management to save and publish materials for easy stakeholder access, and valuable business/sales support to achieve team goals. This position manages specific applications and vendor relationships, supports all technology initiatives, and maintains strong working relations with stakeholders across the organization to ensure continuous process improvements and business excellence.

Responsibilities

Support Project Management and Change Initiatives

  • Provides business analysis and project management support for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing business process improvement initiatives.

  • Tracks business metrics and performs data analysis/root cause investigations.

  • Develops and runs business queries required to perform complex business analytics and prepares reports for management review.

  • Builds reports and Power BI dashboards that deliver accurate views on business health and trends to inform business decisions. (Tell the story)

  • Serves as project manager for IT projects.

  • Develops well documented business cases, perform statistical analysis, cost benefit analysis, and other financial or business process analysis.

  • Facilitates sessions with diverse teams across the organization to achieve project objectives.

  • Identifies best practices or process improvement opportunities.

  • Maintains knowledge and executes fundamental project management disciplines to implement key business initiatives.

  • Supports team in the development and the execution of annual strategic business plan that aligns with fiscal and capital budgets.

  • Engages and communicates effectively with fellow employees and key stakeholders in identifying opportunities that positively impact company financials by leveraging resources, processes, and technologies.

  • Collaborates extensively with IT business partners and operations subject matter experts to build comprehensive business requirements that ensure thorough development of technical design specifications and creates IT work tickets or requests as needed.

  • Monitors technology innovations for CRM & Marketing Automation applications, sales enablement technologies and tools.

    Communicates Effectively and Manages Change

  • Provides input for strategies and goals as requested by the leadership team, communicating sound vision and perspective.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure their expectations are achieved and issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Maintains effective communications and working relationships with other groups and departments to support successful project design, implementation and adoption of new processes and initiatives.

    Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 plus years work related experience OR

  • GED/High School degree and 7 plus years work related experience

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Demonstrated experience in project management

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with diverse teams

  • Demonstrated presentation skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Proficient in Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Pardot (Marketing Automation), MS Office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams etc.

  • Recognizes mindset/ approach to continuous improvements

  • Demonstrated solid written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change in the organization at both strategic and operational levels

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, motivational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Candidate must be totally committed to corporate values and strategic objectives

  • Change Management experience

  • Process Management experience

Working Conditions

  • Virtual Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to the assigned Duke Energy facility.

  • The preferred work location is Charlotte, NC; position will require occasional work from Charlotte Duke Energy facility.
