We need someone who can work with internal customer groups to lead discovery on what exactly data is needed and how it should be controlled or governed—and then define, build, and execute testing programs and protocols. This will serve global stakeholders, and team members will be in time zones spanning from US Pacific to India, so we need someone comfortable working globally across time zones.

We need someone who drives schedule on multiple roadmaps and backlogs because this is a shared-service team feeding multiple engineering groups, and major requirements for running the TDD process are clearly defined success criteria and very efficient post-development measurement. This is a key role on a high-performing team, and it will be highly visible across both North American, European, and Asian orgs.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • In partnership with stakeholders and the Product team, lead the requirement discovery process in conjunction with building out a testing plan before sending the work to Engineering for development.

  • Create, update, monitor and clarify detailed requirements, including specific test plans and data validation criteria, in JIRA tickets.

  • Communicate desired scope and, where applicable, pre-written tests to engineers and work with them on designs.

  • Monitor performance and measure impact (adoption, production issues, etc.) of data product enhancements and releases.

  • Work with external third-party vendors to assess potential partnership opportunities and/or evaluate existing solutions.

  • Accelerate the development process and increase the quality and reliability of the data products we produce.

  • Work with engineers and program managers every day to set priorities, estimate timelines, and drive roadmap.

  • Create and track measurements to enable successful design, build, test, launch, and when needed, wind-down of multiple products.

  • Strong data background; previous BI experience, Analysis, and/or Data Engineering a plus.

  • Strong technical savvy; ability to work and communicate effectively with data engineers.

  • Experience connecting directly to data sources and writing your own SQL queries; any Python, Spark, or Databricks experience a huge plus.

  • Ability to be creative and think of efficient ways to test and validate changes to data pipelines, models, and views.

  • Expertise documenting requirements that translate business needs into technical requirements as defined by the specific tests that prove those requirements are met.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively interact and facilitate discussions with cross functional teams across the business.

  • Comfortable juggling multiple concurrent projects and setting priorities.

  • Experience with JIRA / agile user story and acceptance criteria writing.

  • Willingness to work with cross-functional teams across time-zones and odd hours as necessary.

  • Excellent analytical skills required, experience with user behavior data will be a leg up.
