Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Installation Services is responsible for leading ORI and Procedural Solution Capital installations and leading a North American based installation services group that provides project management and installation services. This position will directly be responsible for a team of approximately 8 Project Managers and indirectly responsible for approximately 30 installers. This position will be responsible to drive growth, quality, and profitability of the installation business. Responsibilities also include delivering installations and ensuring Customer satisfaction with STERIS throughout the process, from pre-installation through start up. This is a high travel/commute role with significant driving and likely overnight stays (50% travel).

This is a remote based customer facing position.

Duties

  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Procedural Solutions Installation Services group. The strategy must support the strategies of the Surgical sales and service organizations as well as be consistent with the overall vision of the company. Key business partners include Sales and Service leadership in Healthcare.

  • Work closely with the Service Management organizations understanding the interdependencies throughout the field organization with Service incentive comp tied to profitability of service business including installations.

  • Management of qualified subcontractor installers and programs to ensure subcontractors perform up to the STERIS standards.

  • Direct installation managers to organize, track, control, and assume responsibility for installations in United States from product definition through customer acceptance. Responsible for maintaining positive variance to quoted costs and ensuring smooth start-up and hand off to Customers.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor consistent processes, policies and procedures that support the installation of equipment. Administer and maintain an equipment bid template to assure uniform bidding practices. Develop and implement procedures to select and qualify potential subcontractors. Develop and monitor pricing practices and partner with Sales and Service to implement.

Duties Continued

  • Communicate with architects, equipment planners, and consultants throughout North America, as needed, for influencing equipment recommendations and specifications relative to installation.

  • Extended Core Team member (interfacing with R&D, Service Engineering) of the NPD process to provide critical input on the functional aspects of new product development that improve the overall product and/or product launch.

  • Assist Sales, Service and Project Management personnel in promoting installation services and developing quotes. Assist with installation costing of large capital equipment projects.

  • Develop and arrange training programs for Installation Managers, Site Supervisors, Integration Specialists, and Subcontractors to drive improvements in service delivery including the certification of our STERIS team.

  • Drive process and Service level improvements along with the LEAN management initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop a close working relationship with Federal, State, and Local code enforcement officials for defining installation requirements for all STERIS equipment.

  • Review and distribute all bid specifications and requests for quotations to the appropriate Installation Manager in a timely manner.

  • Track, report and provide analysis for the progress, profitability and quality of installation activity. Conduct post-project reviews and determine actions necessary to improve quality and effectiveness of installation process, or other impacting processes.

  • Establish project reporting methodologies, forms, policies, and procedures for the installation team.

  • Provide feedback to Sales, Service, Marketing and Manufacturing relative to product and/or order process quality issues.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management and/or equivalent field experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in construction project management (In lieu on degree, minimum of 12 years' experience required).

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience in a virtual setting.

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales or project design experience in a Surgical setting

  • Experience driving process improvements, familiar with Six Sigma or Lean principles.

    Pay range for this opportunity is $98,750.00 - $148,050.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
