Senior Project Manager

Responsible for successful project execution, financial and technical management in accordance with contract requirements, project plans and established corporate policies. Develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area, or type of project.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures

  • Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments of Project Managers; handles problems that will have an important impact on major clients. May act as the primary contact for clients

  • Develops client accounts and new business opportunities within a specific area and/or type of project

  • Assists Project Managers should problems arise in the creation of the project schedule, budget, or other aspects of the project execution

  • Reviews and approves all proposals and negotiated revisions, changes and additions to proposal agreements with Project Managers and the CMS Pre-Construction Team. Will work with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors should problems arise

  • Participates in the staffing of key project positions utilizing CMS internal or external hiring policies

  • Participates in the financial aspects of the project’s profitability while protecting the company’s interests and maintaining good relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Reviews and approves budget estimates, progress and cost tracking reports. Reviews and approves all final project submissions

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Successful candidateMUSThave a minimum of 10 years of Airfield Paving and horizontal construction experience.

  • A Master’s Degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 1 or more years as a CMS Project Manager or more than 5 years of similar outside related project management experience; or

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 2 or more years as a CMS Project Manager or more than 9 years of similar outside related project management experience; or

  • An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 4 or more years as a CMS Project Manager or more than 11 years of similar outside related project management experience; or

  • A High School diploma and 6 or more years as a CMS Project Manager or more than 13 years or similar outside related project management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively develop a cohesive team working together to achieve project goals

  • Ability to professionally represent the company, verbally, in writing, and in person, to clients, CMS members, and all others and to expand relationships and grow the business

  • Thorough knowledge of construction or other related technology, scheduling, procedures, project contracts, plan and specification reading, financial planning and tracking and equipment are required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Primavera

  • Performs assignments with minimal supervision

  • Works independently

  • Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable under our auto policy

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the Director of Operations, Airfield Paving and Horizontal Operations

  • May supervise Project Managers, Asst. Project Managers and Superintendents
