About the Role:
You will collect and analyze trade information to assess a daily pricing index for the North American natural gas liquids physical spot markets. You will report on natural gas liquids trading and fundamentals and create alerts relevant to the industry. Additionally, you will be trained to cover multiple products such as pricing tickers, forward curves and other editorial tasks. You will report to the Journalism Associate Director.
You Will:
Be trained to cover the North American natural gas liquids physical spot markets
Gather spot market price transactions and market intel from industry participants by email, instant messaging and by phone
Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to OPIS pricing methodology when assessing daily benchmarked and non-benchmarked prices
Create breaking and feature news alerts relevant to the North American natural gas liquids markets
Contribute to social media content, blog postings, industry analysis, and publish OPIS reports
Understand and promote the OPIS NGL suite of products offered
Help support upgrades to current OPIS publications and new project ideas
Attend or host industry events and conferences
Meet and network with current sources and resources, and develop new sources in the North American natural gas liquids industry
Uphold, follow and adhere to OPIS compliance policy, code of ethics and methodologies
You Have:
At least 4 years' journalism, price assessing and/or active business experience in the natural gas liquids or energy/commodity markets
Experience with energy market data analysis, pricing, and reporting
Pricing methodology creation experience
Developed news and content creation strategies
Managed hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual publishing deadlines
Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook and Python (preferred)
Bilingual English/Spanish language proficiency (preferred)
Undergraduate degree in Energy, Journalism, English, Finance, Business, Data Science or related area of study -OR- equivalent work experience

Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000
