The Security Services Department’s overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

What will you do?

Join a team of security professionals that are driven to solve complex security problems in collaboration with Laboratory research teams and Government counterparts across the following industrial security areas:

• Selected candidate will work at the Reagan Test Site at the US Army Kwajalein Atoll installation on Kwajalein as the FSO, CPSO, ISSO and COMSEC

• Responsible Officer and will oversee all aspects of site security including collateral and compartmented programs, automated information systems, document and reproduction management, clearance and access processing for site personnel and visitors, COMSEC operations, and secure facilities.

• Will work closely with Laboratory and security management and Department of Defense security professionals to maintain site security accreditation as well as to prepare for internal and external security reviews.

• Will provide security guidance in design and construction of renovations and enhancements to controlled facilities, including the review and revision of construction plans and specifications. May participate in field testing, data collections, setup, and execution of field activities.

• Continuously monitors security posture of Laboratory programs and associated facilities

• Conducts annual training, facility access training, Operations Security (OPSEC) awareness.

What you need/Requirements

To work with MIT LL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements.

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Industrial Security, or related field with 5-7 years of security administration experience in Department of Defense Industrial Security.

• A minimum of three years’ experience performing the duties of primary CPSO and FSO

• Regulatory compliance experience: The ability to read, understand and apply government regulation, policies and procedure (DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives and manuals, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, applicable ICDs, etc.).

• Thorough knowledge of the DAAPM and JSIG requirements are needed as the candidate will be responsible for certification and accreditation of information systems and will perform duties associated with the positions of Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) including audits. A DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification (e.g. Security+) is required within 6 months of assuming the role of ISSO.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must possess a current in scope Top Secret level security clearance with compartmented program eligibility.
