Southwire Job Description
Job Summary/Objective:
“Southwire Solutions” are a collection of value-added products and services that support a customer’s preference for
our brand over the competition. The Southwire “Contractor Solutions Professional” is responsible for direct contractor
engagement to bring awareness of the complete basket of “Southwire Solutions”. The outcome of this awareness would
be to drive specification and increase revenue of Southwire Solutions related sales. Responsibilities include: on site
installation training and support for electrical contractors, assisting the contractor to customize a “Solutions plan” for
each project, acting as a field resource in the development of new products and Southwire Solutions, and fully
supporting the sales and product management teams.
Key Responsibilities
•Proficiently communicate the value of Southwire’s proprietary electrical contractor tools such as Configurator Plus,
Cable Pulling Calculator, and Contractor mobile apps. In addition, Contractor Solutions Professionals should have the
ability to assist in the development of future solution tools.
•Receive, acknowledge, and process customer requests in a timely manner as it relates to Southwire Solutions.
•Maintain a strong knowledge base in Southwire’s value proposition to drive specification of Southwire Solutions with
targeted contractors.
•Share best practices with contractors to ensure jobsite pulls are performed with Safety as the top priority. *Must be
or soon become OSHA 10 certified.*
•Provide field support for Contractor solutions applications, including Tools and Equipment Solutions at times, through
joint calls and training opportunities.
•Must be able to travel and adjust to changing schedules and deadlines as needed to meet contractor job
requirements.
•Perform well in a team environment as well as work independently with little direct supervision.
•Monitor and report on the success of Southwire Solution adoption using CRM and other software platforms.
•Work closely with other team members and provide support as needed.
•Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Required
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Years of Experience: 5Field of Expertise: Commercial construction, project management, or electrical engineering
Preferred
Years of Experience: 10Preferred Field of Expertise: 7+ Wire and Cable sales
Other
Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, &
Certificates: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required. Sales Force and SAP experience preferred. Applicant must possess excellent organizational and project management abilities, along with exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to travel 50 – 70%
