JOB SUMMARY:
Looking for a Solution Architect opportunity to be part of an agile, creative and innovative team focused on usability, accessibility and end-user engagement? SaskPower is recruiting for the role of Digital Services Specialist (Solution Architect) for our saskpower.com product team. This role is accountable to provide architectural design, documentation and subject matter expertise as part of a DevOps team in our Technology and Security division. We are responsible to maintain and improve the external channels and technologies for SaskPower. As a member of SaskPower’s out of scope team, this position is responsible to act as a leader and central point of contact, providing expert advice and direction.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Technical vision and design of saskpower.com and related products,
o Adherence to SaskPower standards including security, accessibility, brand, code, and architecture o Adherence to regulatory requirements and standards such as cybersecurity, CASL, CRTC, WCAG 2.2, PCI Security, etc. o Understanding the suite of products in Digital Services and what functions they provide to the business, customer and end users o Design and document how the technologies function and integrate (standards, roadmaps, solution design, technical documentation, capabilities map, etc.)• Lead technical investigations (problems and incidents) and change management
• Work with team to investigate and review enhancements (backlog), then advise, design, and document the technical solution
• Representation of Digital Services with Solution/Enterprise Architecture groups, cross functional projects, governance committees, etc.
• Collaboration with downstream technologies on sustainability, stability of the solution
• Work with managed service team for code reviews, deployment planning, change requests, recommendations for improvement, support
• Outside the box thinking and innovation to identify new solutions and operational efficiencies while maintaining fiscal responsibility
• Providing recommendations for updates or change which have a significant impact on SaskPower’s business operations and strategies or our customer
• Maintain knowledge of industry developments and best practices related to Digital Services products and technologies
• Provide leadership and direction to team as required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
• Five (5) years of related architecture or web development experience, preferably in website design, web development, and related architectures (including .NET, JavaScript, HTML, etc.) and technologies such as Sitecore Experience Platform, Microsoft Azure, and/or heavily integrated environments using microservices
• Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
• Five (5) years of related architecture experience, preferably including website design and related technologies such as:
o Sitecore Experience Platform (.NET, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) o Microsoft Azure and Docker (CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, Kubernetes, containerized infrastructure) o Heavily integrated environments using microservice architecture and headless API architecture• Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
• Innovative and results oriented thinker, with the ability to lead and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
• Excellent analytical, research, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work and adapt in a changing environment
• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
• Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
• Must have a continuing record of professional development
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered
