Job Description

This is to fill multiple positions.

Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done. or work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.

Responsibilities :

• Synthesize branched polymeric materials via Divergent Dendrimer Synthesis

• Record data and observations of daily tasks in laboratory manual

• Clean and maintain laboratory

• Read scientific journals to enhance understanding of research material and experiments

• Perform other duties as assigned.

  Required Education and Experience:

• Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.

• Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA

• No prior experience necessary

• For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.

  Preferred Education and Experience:

No prior experience necessary. Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University majoring in a science field (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in polymer or dendrimer synthesis

• Experience with use of analytical instrumentation, i.e., FTIR, NMR, UV-Vis

  Other Requirements:

• Ability to work effectively and independently to meet target goals and deadlines

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and to multi-task
