Position Summary
Under direct supervisor, this position is responsible to perform field/surveying duties.
Education
Required - High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Required - Students must be currently attending college and/or enrolled in college classes for the fall of the year in which the summer program is taking place. Proof of enrollment may be requested.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing
Required - Have and maintain a valid driver’s license Upon Hire
Required - Summer Student Work Program Guidelines:
- Students must be at least 18 years of age by the time they begin employment. - The expected work schedule for the Summer Student Work Program is 40 hours per week. - If possible, time-off requests should be presented during the interview to ensure proper coverage. All requests must be approved and requested as far in advance as possible. - The openings are Temporary Full-Time. Summer Student Workers are paid for time worked. All time-off will be unpaid, including holidays. - The Summer Student Work Program will begin on a specified date each year and will conclude on specified date each year. No summer employment will be extended beyond the end date determined each year. - Students selected for the Summer Student Work Program are required to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Upon HireRequired - Employee(s) in this position are covered under the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol testing provisions. This includes post-offer, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, follow-up, and return to duty testing. Upon Hire

Strong organizational skills; personal initiative, attention to thoroughness, accuracy and details.
Ability to work with general supervision.
Knowledge of the District’s service area preferred.
Essential Functions
Drive District vehicle in accordance with established District Driving and Safety policies and procedures, as well as strictly following traffic laws and ordnances.
Communicate with and assist customers, co-workers, and management professionally, regardless of provocation.
Field/Survey Worker Only:
Reads and records information using a hand-held device. Must be able to complete the assigned route daily.
Report all unusual conditions, events or occurrences immediately to supervisor.
