About the role:

  • Contribute to Agile product development team(s) as Product Owner, attending daily Scrum meetings, keeping Scrum artifacts visible, helping resolve impediments to the team, and assisting with backlog maintenance, sprint planning and review meetings

  • Develop and maintain a healthy backlog for new requirements in line with defined strategy and vision for platform and learning initiatives

  • Articulate the vision and roadmap in long- and short-term planning and business case development efforts

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather clarity on requirements and expectations

  • Manage priorities and project deliverables to support delivery of high-quality functionality on schedule that meets customer needs

  • Liaise between project teams and internal stakeholders (e.g. engineering, editorial/learning architecture, design, QA, etc.) to collect and synthesize feedback, manage/align project schedules, and motivate team

  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to articulate and clarify requirements

  • Perform risk assessments and analyses to prioritize and make trade-offs to ensure on timely project completion while maintaining educational integrity of products

  • Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including project documentation, follow up and status reports to ensure on-time product and/or feature deliveries Skills &

Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years participating in or managing cross-functional product development teams

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills

  • Innovative team player with the ability to proactively and creatively solve problems

  • Passion for creating innovate technology solutions for students and teachers

  • Experience leading and managing a feature-rich product roadmap (aligning it to business drivers, keeping it relevant to internal and external customers and market needs)

  • Demonstrated success and experience leading teams with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence

  • Knowledge of education technology (K-12) industry technology trends, user experience (educators, students, and administrators) and classroom needs

  • Strong organizational and communication skills and an ability to present business cases, vision and reports to all stakeholders

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and make difficult decisions with speed and accuracy

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or technical discipline preferred

  • Agile Product Manager/Owner Certification preferred

  • Previous work with product or development teams both co-located and distributed team model
