Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of ScotiaTech ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Design business cases, cost-benefit analysis

  • Identify growth opportunities for ScotiaTech

  • Being an ally with for partner relations across GBS

  • Develop creative solutions to manage technology problems, risks and definition of priorities.

  • Support Technology Transformation programs and build key operational processes to enable the program’s overall strategy.

  • Lead the holistic design and delivery of transformation programs, policies and governs operational execution standards in a fast-paced internal team.

  • Bring innovative thinking to break down strategic problems, supported by analysis fit for multi-disciplinary initiatives and a complex matrix organization

  • Plan and own initiatives from problem definition to execution whilst enabling analysis and insights on effectiveness, productivity and quality of project and program deliverable's

  • Articulate and present strategic rationale, business impact implications and key milestones to a wide range of stakeholders in a concise, visually pleasing documentation

  • Define and measure success metrics, and monitor change and program progress

  • Manage stakeholders while tracking and reporting issues and managing escalations (Directors , VP+)

  • Manage relations with external vendors in a complex matrix organization and ensure achievement of organization goals

  • Ensure that the team works in accordance with the approved company operating policies, procedures, practices and methods

  • Deliver high-quality work that meets expectations for timeliness, accuracy, completeness, monitoring progress against planned objectives, financial review, and securing consensus and cooperation from stakeholders and senior management

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to help ensure all initiatives maintain momentum against the background of changing and occasionally conflicting priorities.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Must to have :

  • Education in Business, Operations, Processes or related field

  • 4 years of IT and/or business industry work experience

  • Experience in managing business cases, cost-benefit analysis and designing and implementing solutions end to end

  • Experience in presenting to senior stakeholders at an organization

  • Experience in managing IT operations and working in a high paced environment

  • Expertise delivering in very complex business lines, remote teams, operational processes and their implications across the enterprise

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills are a must

  • Sales skills to communicate, present and influence at all levels of the organization

  • Strong process and analytical skills with sharp decision-making abilities

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Experience with MS Office, especially MS Excel

  • B2 level of English

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
