Travel Technician (Cytotechnologist III) Location: Indianapolis, IN Duration: 12 Months Description: Client is seeking a cytologist with strong communication skills for our Indianapolis Central Laboratory Services (CLS) location. We support global clinical trials across various laboratory disciplines with standardized processes and instrumentation in Europe, Asia/Pacific, and the United States. This opening seeks a cytologist to support the cytologist leader in establishing a new high-volume gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology service in Indianapolis. The candidate will assist in screening, operate laboratory instruments, and support clinical trials involving cytology services. The role requires some experience working as part of a cytology service, and leadership potential is desirable. Experience performing quality control, and effective communication with a global team to enhance departmental and client interactions are important. Success in this role will lead to service development and expansion, increased operational scale, and an expansion of professional opportunities. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in supervising the Cytology lab and provide screening coverage as needed. Maintain qualifications for quality control and review 10% of ‘negative’ cases daily. Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for abnormalities. Generate final reports on unsatisfactory cases; provide final diagnoses for triage cases. Finalize testing results accurately and promptly in the computer. Ensure documentation of screening/non-screening activities per lab/CLIA guidelines. Assist in training junior personnel in collaboration with the leader; support the team in establishing a high-volume cytology service and ensuring good communication with clients and internal partners. Facilitate communication and be knowledgeable on many aspects of clinical trials involving cytology services. Operate cytology-related instrumentation (Panther Plus, Hologic Genius) and liaise with a global team and clients to enhance departmental interactions Minimum Education and Experience Required: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university. Completion of an accredited Cytology program. ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification. Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a Cytologist/Cytotechnologist is required Must pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
