JOB SUMMARY
- Collaborates with the CMO to ensure department, organizational and medical staff goals are met; identifies and seeks solutions to barriers that impede goal achievement
- Provides leadership, management and operational oversight to the Department of Medical Administration
- Identifies and initiates ways to improve/establish processes designed to increase efficiencies, meet organizational goals, and achieve regulatory compliance
- Provides direction and support to the medical staff officers and clinical chiefs with regard to their administrative and leadership responsibilities; provides general support and guidance to the organized medical staff for issues, concerns and engagement
- Works collaboratively with the CMO, medical staff leadership and Director of Medical Affairs to ensure all accreditation and licensing standards are complainant, as they relate to the organized medical staff.
- Responsible for financial forecasting, management and tracking of both departmental expenses and the medical staff dues fund.
- Manages the direct the day-to day function of the Medical Administration Office
- Provides on-going support to the CMO in order to achieve daily and strategic objectives are met
- Is self-sufficient with regard to performing daily office tasks (e.g. answers phones, schedules meetings, copies and files)
- Collaborates with internal and external customers to address issues that impact the medical staff
- Supervises the Administrative Assistant who provides support to the Chiefs of Surgery, Medicine and Pediatrics; facilitates communication with the chiefs to ensure needs are met and within designated timeframes; obtains input from chiefs when completing the annual performance evaluation
- Provides information to Asst to CMO to ensure inventory is adequate to perform office functions
- Bachelorrsquo;s degree required, Masterrsquo;s degree in Health care or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 + yearsrsquo; experience in health care administration; experience in medical staff services or regulatory preferred
- Must possess detailed knowledge of requirements/standards Joint Commission, NJ Department of Health, CMS and other regulatory organizations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Certified Professional in Medical Staff Services (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) by the National Association of Medical Staff Services, preferred
