South County Hospital Charge RN, Emergency Services in Wakefield, Rhode Island

Job Summary:

Oversees and facilitates patient flow through the Emergency Department. Develops and coordinates assignments and delegates work to achieve desired results. Balances resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Acts as a resource to advance patient care outcomes. Takes a patient assignment when necessary. Facilitates safety huddles in the absence of the unit leader.

Reports to: Emergency Room Manager

Direct reports: None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school or college for specialty; baccalaureate degree preferred. AD graduates currently enrolled in BS program with commitment to obtain BS within 3 years of employment.

  • Valid nursing license in RI.

  • Valid BLS through the American Heart Association

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in field demonstrating progressively great responsibility.

  • Advanced critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills to ensure successful flow of the patient.

  • Strong communication skills to assist colleagues in meeting and exceeding standards of care and to facilitate a dynamic and positive team spirit.

  • National certification in Specialty recommended in 2-3 years.
