Part time Group Leader - NEW School ELC of Waldorf located at 3155 John Hanson Rd Waldorf MD 20601

Hours AM HOURS 6am-9:45am PM HOURS 4pm-6pm

Position Objective:

AlphaBESTEducation is seeking a part-time Group Leader for our 4 year old Preschool Center in Waldorf, MD. The Preschool Director creates a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow while providing leadership and guidance to the stakeholders of the site. The Preschool Site Director will ensure that the child care center meetsAlphaBESTand state regulations while building anurturingenvironment for our valued families.

CHILD SAFETY AND SUPERVISION

  1. Provides constant supervision of children by staying within sight and sound of assigned group. Adheres to policies and procedures in a proactive manner, making the safety and care of children a primary focus.
  2. Follows licensing regulations/standards, such as reporting child incidents and proper health and hygiene procedures.
  3. Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
  4. Assists in emergency situations such as evacuation procedures and CPR/First Aid.
  5. Reports suspected child abuse and neglect in accordance with mandated reporter guidelines.
  6. Stays apprised of child-related food allergies, special needs, and other medically sensitive conditions.
  7. Reports to area manager any concerns regarding child behavior, sickness, health-related observations, accidents, or incidents requiring medical attention or matters that should be reported to the parents.
  8. Inspects on a daily basis all facilities, equipment, and supplies and makes sure all are accounted for and put away at the end of each day.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience working under supervision with preschoolers in a licensed child care center, nurseryschool, church-operated school, or similar setting
  • CPR and First Aid certified.
  • Effective listening, communication skills are required with both children and adults.
  • Serves as a positive role model; must be enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and sensitive to children.
  • Good judgment and sound decision-making.
  • Knowledge of state policies and procedures regarding child care regulations.
  • Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
  • Possess demonstrated a professional level of verbal and written communication skills.
